The Light Between The Miles

#TheKindnessTour was in full swing in 2025.

More than ten states. Over forty events. Countless conversations. Thousands of educators and students. And through it all, the focus remained the same: kindness.

Every mile held a story. Every room held a spark. Every person reminded me why this work matters.

From small communities to packed auditoriums, from early mornings with teachers to late-night conversations with students, kindness kept showing up. Sometimes loud, sometimes quiet, but always exactly when it was needed.

When I started The Kindness Tour, I didn’t imagine the way it would stretch me: in miles, in message, in meaning. I saw it as an opportunity to teach the science of kindness, but it’s become much more than that. It’s been an invitation to live it.

This year wasn’t without challenge. There were long travel days, flight delays, new places, new faces, and moments of deep exhaustion. But for every tired morning, there was a conversation that brought energy back. For every long drive, there was a school that reignited hope.

And somewhere along the way, I realized the tour wasn’t just about spreading kindness—it was about noticing it.

It showed up in the teacher who stayed late to talk about a struggling student. In the principal who hugged every staff member before they left for the day. In the student who said, “I needed to hear that.” That’s the real impact: the quiet, unseen moments that no data chart could ever measure.

Neuroscience reminds us that kindness doesn’t just make people feel good; it changes them. Every act of kindness releases dopamine and oxytocin, rewiring the brain toward trust, connection, and belonging. That’s why culture doesn’t change by slogans, it changes by chemistry. So when kindness takes root in a classroom, a campus, or a company, it doesn’t stay contained. It spreads. It ripples. It lasts.

2025 proved that again and again.

To everyone who invited me into your schools, districts, conferences, corporate offices, and communities, thank you. Thank you for welcoming me into your work, your stories, and your hearts. Thank you for believing that kindness isn’t one more thing, it’s the thing. And thank you for letting me witness the light you carry.

5 Ways to Be the Light in 2026

  • Reflect before you race. The best growth comes from gratitude.

  • Stay rooted in purpose. Kindness is not a strategy—it’s a way of being.

  • Celebrate the quiet wins. Not every impact can be measured, but it can always be felt.

  • Keep showing up. Consistency creates change more than charisma ever will.

  • Carry the light forward. What begins as a moment can become a movement.

Here’s to the moments that shaped us in 2025, and to even brighter ones ahead. Remember, kindness isn’t one more thing. It’s the thing that changes everything!
